We have created a link below to an article written by Doug D'Avino about the History of the Smithville Post Office. The article appeared in the November, 2011 edition of the New Jersey Postal History Journal - Volume 39/ No. 4 on pages 197 to 210. The article is nicely illustrated. Mr. D'Avino interviewed several family members who were descendants of the last Postmaster at Smithville, Edith Vaughn, who was Postmaster for 34 years, from 1930 to 1964, when the Smithville Post Office was discontinued.
